About
Open-source tools and tech hacks, explained in 40 seconds
Who runs it
Context Harness (@ctx.harness) is run by Harsha Vardhan, the maintainer of openapi-mcp-generator, an open-source tool that turns any OpenAPI spec into an MCP server, with more than 600,000 npm downloads.
What the account covers
- Build it yourself: open-source projects you can actually build, with parts and exact commands.
- Big Tech changed this: policy and product changes that affect you, and the settings to check.
- Future tech: ambitious ideas that are getting real approvals, and the people pushing back.
- What if: thought experiments grounded in how the technology really works.
Every reel gets a guide on this site: what it is, what you need, the steps, the catches, and where the facts come from.
How topics are checked
Every claim in a guide is tied to a numbered source at the bottom of the page: the project's own repository or documentation first, then official statements, then reporting. Where sources disagree, the guide says so. Things that are a company's pitch rather than a shipped product are labelled as such, and every guide ends with an honest caveats box listing the limits, risks and open questions.
Prices and version details change. Guides note the date they were checked.
